Getting Around Nashik
Nashik offers multiple transport options to help pilgrims reach the holy Ghats and temples. During the Sinhastha Kumbh Mela, special traffic rules are in place to ensure a smooth flow of devotees. Here are the best ways to travel locally.
Citilinc City Bus
The official city bus service of Nashik (NMC). These buses connect major areas like Nashik Road, CBS, and Ambad to the Mela grounds. Special shuttle buses run frequently for pilgrims during the festival.
Auto Rickshaws
Available 24/7, rickshaws are the most flexible option. Shared autos are very common on fixed routes, making it an affordable way to reach narrow areas like Panchavati and Old Nashik.
ST (State) Buses
For travelling to Trimbakeshwar (30 KM away), the MSRTC operates dedicated 'Mela Special' buses from various points in the city to ensure safe and direct transport for devotees.
Eco-Friendly E-Rickshaws
A great choice for short distances near the 'No-Vehicle Zones'. These are eco-friendly and easily navigate through the busy crowds near Ram Kund and Godavari banks.
Important Traffic Guidelines
On Shahi Snan days, private vehicles are restricted near the river. We recommend using the government-provided Shuttle Services from the outer parking areas to reach the Ghats easily.
